ZRG failed to submit plans within its 16 month exclusivity agreement. Have they thrown in the towel? Is the Park now up for grabs from anyone? What's happened to the Free School plan?
Chaos up the Park. No plan for what should be one of London's iconic spaces. But then, we are south of the river and Boris is busy elsewhere ...

Bromley Crystal Palace 14 day ultimatum to ZRG: The Crunch?

For me it has always looked like a desperate borough clutching at what looks like an ugly land-grab
As someone who jogs in the park sometimes - yes bits of it are scruffy but there is some empty quiet space - I shudder to think how much sprawl would flow from the design put forward from zRG. The design itself was mediocre and made little reference to the services / access and infrastructure needed which would have resulted in even more being concreted for profit .
How did big multinationals becomes seen as the saviour of our parks ? It needs some tidying up bit doesnt need saving and it doesn't need housing ( no local authority / first voice Hong Kong / buy to let or otherwise ) .
Bit of a lone voice I suspect but I hope ZRG and their consultants pack up and go .
A very good evening

A good friend sent me this link: http://insidecroydon.com/2015/02/11/bor ... sultation/
One might think that after the Royal Albert Dock fiasco and general discomfort with the Mayor's Chinese Dealings and the possibility of possible future mayoral candidate and IAAF President Seb Coe - Bromley and the GLA are rapidly moving into dis-engagement and damage limitation.
Whilst we see an intriguing battle of egos - our poor park continues to have a very uncertain future.

Thank god for that. The whole thing was embarrassingly shady.
