Re: VENNER ROAD/HIGH STREET

Walking past Venner Rd this morning I noticed it now has temporary bollards blocking access to the paved area form both sides. So hopefully they will be making that permanent shortly.

Re: The Railway Pub

I never used to mind the old Railway pub. It was a typical Taylor Walker pub, a bit down-trodden but a proper drinkers boozer. It's still owned by Taylor Walker so I wouldn't hold your breath for any new 'gastro-pub' experiences. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham.org.uk/mobile.png

Re: Glazier/Roofer needed

It's just the glass that got blown out of the frame, which is why I thought a regular glazier could take care of it. It's about 18"x12" sheet of wire renforced glass.
Thanks for the contact.

Glazier/Roofer needed

Not sure if I need recommendation for a roofer or glazier to repair a skylight which got blown out in a recent storm. Probably goes without saying but I'm looking for a competent, honest person who can do a good job at a competitive rate.
Cheers Guys....

Re: The Greyhound

Walking past the site this morning (7:20am) and it would appear that the far top left flat is occupied. Lights were on, furniture was in and there was someone walking around in there.

Re: What is the best Indian restaurant around Sydenham?

Without doubt the Babur is the finest Indian around, if not London. Also worth a mention, and a little closer to home is Cinnamon, formally Cafe La behind Forest Hill Station.

Re: New to Sydenham

WG Grace and Rolf Harris both lived in Lawrie Park Road. Not to mention Kelly Brooke, Jason Statham & Billy Zane all lived in Bolney Court. (not all at the same time mind). Ernest Shackleton just round the corner on Westwood Hill by the church. By the way Joe, I live next door to Simon, and I think ...

Re: blue mountain

I've just walked past there and it looks like they're doing a refurb of some kind. Didn't look to closely though, and there's no word of the Sydenham branch on their website.

Re: The two half´s pub

If Antic are pulling out of the Greyhound site then they should be encouraged to look at the Two Half's (sic). It used to be a fantastic pub back in the early 90's, half pub, half curry house, and a really great curry house as well. It was called the Pukka Bar, if anyone remembers and served some of ...
