Re: House conversion
planning consent was refused. Rightly so. The proposal would have been a major fire risk.

Re: House conversion
Oh! Go on. You know you want to. In my road Lewisham planning department gave us an assurance they will not agree to any further sub-divisions.
I argued, at a meeting, this is one of the few places in London where there are reasonably affordable family sized houses.

Re: Sydenham Assembly - 11am Saturday 1 February
These have always been a joke. A small clique is allowed to dominate them.
Councillors remain inaccessible and continue to ignore letters sent to them.
Then again.
We live in a borough where a despotic mayor(sic) can please themselves what they choose to do.
Still we have rut ridden roads ...

Ha! The former manager there boasted to me that it was the most profitable Homebase in the country.

Re: Bell Green McDonalds
I daresay the council will just rubber-stamp it with no demands, because they have very little ambition
Councillors do have ambitions, but maybe not for Lewisham e.g. the former mayor was happy to cost us an expensive mayoral bye-election so that he could pursue his ambition to be an MP.
Not ...

Re: Barratt Homes / gasholders site: make your comments NOW!
The response from Lewisham in the planning documents sets out the pollution on site:
"The intrusive investigation works which have been undertaken at the site have identified elevated levels of PAH's, metals and benzene across the wider site which exceed the generic assessment criteria for human ...

Re: Barratt Homes / gasholders site: make your comments NOW!
The question still is, is it safe to house people here?
presumably it wasn't safe a few years ago when it was all designated a commercial zone/massive car park.
What has changed?
Presumably they are monitoring the toxic gases released and liquids pumped out - is there any public record of this ...

Re: Consultation - Bus Lane, Southend Lane (Bellingham Side)
Buses do not use the existing bus lanes and there is insufficient room on Southend Lane to provide one. The answer to congestion on Southend Lane is to widen it at the Railway and excavate to provide a full width dual carriageway. Then continue it past the junction with Kangley Bridge Road and ...

Re: New Marks and Spencer at Bell Green
Ther is no question that work needs to be carried out to improve the traffic flow and parking situation at Bell Green but that was not the point of this thread. I note someone also advocates building housing on the site. Good look with that. There is a reason the former gas works was not developed ...

Re: Bus Stops - Temporary or otherwise
Most bus stops around here and in London generally are positioned dangerously. In other parts of the country their locations would be rejected after the local Police object (on the grounds of Obstruction of the Highway).
Then we have the ludicrous situation where a bus lay by was removed and paved ...

If you look back I didn't vote for her. My relations with the Sydenham Labour Party are best described as "difficult".
I will still credit her for doing good work in the constituency as I did for her two predecessors - the first of whom did my family a great service was the Conservative John ...

Shame she was not at her desk dealing with constituents' letters.
Yes taking a Sunday off to meet her constituents is pretty shocking. But I'm sure you will be delighted to hear Ellie is back slaving over a keyboard today. I got a very positive response at midday to an email I sent on 12/7 ...

It's hard to take some posts here seriously, they sound like Labour Party press releases.
We are told that Ellie Reeves is very visible . What does that even mean?
Hard to imagine. She is totally unseen in the constituency. She does not reply to constituent's letters. She is invariably absent ...
