I remember Dartmouthroad/kirkdale junction full of a variety of small useful shops, not a takeaway to be had ...

Re: Positive note about the forum!
This place is dead on its feet usd to be lively once, but increasing censorship from apperently left leaning mods has mortally wounded it plus the usual rent a mob shouting down any comment they deemed unacceptable just pisses people off and they never return. Who ever runs the site cannot stomach ...

Re: thank god i have left the uk
Anyone, and I mean anyone trying to cover up for this government needs to seriously look in the mirror, never in my lifetime have I ever seen a more corrupt UK government. Heads need to roll and traitors gate at the tower of London needs to be re-opened and used !!
Not old enough to remember ...

Re: St Antholin Spire / Heritage of London Trust
I knew the spire when it was in the grounds of the social club, and the social club was an odd place set in almost derelict grounds, as if it was hiding away. The spire was removed from its original place in the bottom corner of the grounds near to Round Hill to where it is now. It was surrounded by ...

I wonder what the parents of those youths would think about their actions
#1 they are probably as bad as their kids.
#2 I wonder how many of those kids even know both their parents?
too much indescriminate breeding for benefits amongst the scum element.
Go on, tell me if there was more for them ...

here's a thought, maybe the people in the photos are not the real problem?
The real problem is the mindset shown inthe post by the aptly named 'Clown' .
Crime will cease if we are all nice to each other. Of course it will.
think about it before you slag me off. and those in the pictures are not ...

I just read of the closure elsewhere,so came here to see what was going on.
In the 1950s, Wells park which was a little gem of a place had several paddling pools graduated from very shallow to deeper for the sole use of children.
I see that's all gone now. It was a much loved and used facility. It ...

The point of my "thin" evidence is that it was so bad 30yrs ago I upped and got out . From my regular reading of the moans groans and complaints on here, and the odd trip down Kirkdale and Sydenham road via google street to marvel at the variety of fastfood joints, closed pubs and shops, graffiti ...

while some of those trying to 'scare' people away were rather thin on the evidence
I, & my family, have all moved away from SE26 where we were born, how is that 'thin' evidence? and back then the crime rate was nothing like todays.
How many of those who are here extoling the virtues of SE26 have ...

I knew that site when it was just a huge hole in the ground after bomb clearance, I got into that hole at the age of 4 and had to be rescued by a passer by.
Make of that bit of trivia what you will, kids playing in the street these days, far more dangerous than a bombsite.

Can no-one in SE26 cook themselves bacon eggs and sausages in the mornings then?
£10 quid for that?
or 50 quid a week? assuming 5 days out the week you are paid too much.
'£200 per month you could get someone to come to your house and cook it and still be quids in.
